Thomas Rhett Bio
Born Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. in Valdosta, Georgia, in 1990, Thomas Rhett grew up around country music as the son of songwriter and performer Rhett Akins. He began releasing music with his 2012 debut single, “Something to Do with My Hands,” and built a distinctive sound that blends country with pop and R&B influences. His catalog includes “Crash and Burn,” “Die a Happy Man,” “T-Shirt,” “Marry Me” and “Life Changes,” alongside albums such as It Goes Like This, Tangled Up and Center Point Road.
Rhett's personal lyrics and energetic, production-rich performances have helped establish him as a major touring artist. He has earned multiple ACM and CMA Awards and more than 20 No. 1 country singles. “Life Changes,” in particular, draws on his family story, while romantic favorites such as “Die a Happy Man” have become central to his live repertoire.
